RGB — Zombie Nation
Zombie Nation — Turbo Recordings TurboCd036 / TurboLp036 — 2012
Double Vinyl · Digital
Background
RGB is Zombie Nation's fifth studio album, released in 2012 on Tiga's Turbo Recordings. Florian Senfter describes the album as coming to him "easier than others" — he was "in a flow, churning out sketches" — before the real work of mixing and integrating those sketches into a cohesive record began.
The OP-1
The Teenage Engineering OP-1 — a compact, battery-powered synthesiser and sequencer — played a central role in RGB. Tracks Momplays and Maingame are heavily based on the OP-1, with its distinctive lo-fi digital character running through much of the album's texture. Extensive mixing and studio processing were required to expand and integrate its sound alongside the larger analogue setup.
